High Ashurst trip 2020

You have by now, received a letter for High Ashurst and an invitation for payment.  If you have not received a copy of the letter, please click here.  Places are limited for this trip.  Payment deadline is Monday 2nd December.

Dropping and Collecting from school and clubs

Please can we remind parents and children to be vigilant when dropping and collecting at the start and the end of the school day.  Any child in year 4 and below should not be collected by an older sibling under the age of 16 for safeguarding reasons and those children who walk home on their own should be encouraged to walk in groups.  This is to ensure the safety of our pupils.

What is Guided Reading?

Thank you to everyone who came and supported this workshop led by Miss Chatfield on Tuesday.

Swimming Gala

Children who are selected for the swimming gala will come home with their letter and ticket today.

Next Week

We will have a focus on Road Safety for National Road Safety week.  Year 6 will be having their height and weight check.

Aldi stickers

Thank you to everyone who brought in the Aldi stickers.  We had enough for two posters in the end and these have now been sent off!

Network Rail

Due to the very high level of trespassing on the tracks by young people in our local area, Network Rail in partnership with Learn Live are working to help raise awareness to students across the UK educating them about the dangers of the train tracks through interactive digital delivery.  Please click on the link below to take you to a short video.  https://learnliveuk.com/network-rail-primary-school-safety-talk/

The Words of the Week were

Infants        -        Sob – ‘to cry loudly’

Juniors        -        Remembrance – ‘the act of remembering something; the act of remembering the dead’

Riddle of the Week for pupils (last answer: the alphabet)

Bobby throws a ball as hard as he can. It comes back to him, even though nothing and nobody touches it. How?
